GLAZE CHEMISTRY
Developing your own glazes is an essential step in making your pieces truly your own. This Workshop with Paul Simon Heyduck, an experienced ceramicist based in Westerwald, Germany's clay region, is designed for all those who so far have no or little experience in creating their own glaze recipes and don't know where to even start.
In this workshop you will learn about the main ingredients for making a glaze (fired at 1240 °C) and how to change chemical formulas to achieve desired textures and colours.Â
You will develop a deeper understanding by hands-on glaze testing and using the right equipment.Â
